the lead
Fundamental to the Jentle Method™ practice, the lead is our custom designed tool. Each lead is handmade in small batches by a women owned company in Portland, Oregon and finished by Cole and Jonathan. We began making these leads in 2018 as other leashes dug into the dogs nose, were bulky and didn’t feel very confirmable to the dog or us. We created a lead that is durable and last years, is soft to touch and lays flat on the dogs’ snout and neck. For both the comfort of the person and dog using it. Made for all sizes.

Written and published by Cole Lasher and Jonathan Czinder, “The Jentle Method: Leadwork” offers a deeper understanding and feeling of how we work with dogs through step-by-step explanation of our methodology. In this book we dive into the 11 steps of the Jentle Method, the forms of communication we use, and give folks a path to begin practicing or deepen their understanding. The Jentle Method is like nothing else out there, not using common forms of working with dogs but something completely different and unique. First published in 2019.
